Prepare designs, specifications, and drawings for HVAC, refrigeration, steam, and piping systems in industrial and commercial facilities.
Complete projects by developing initial design concepts, performing calculations, preparing construction documents using Autocad, obtaining owner approvals, and making adjustments to final design.
Follow current building codes and related ordinances, such as ASHRAE.
Evaluate building systems and provide input regarding the upgrade or enhancements necessary to achieve project objectives.
Communicate with clients to gain knowledge of desired project objectives and needs.
Foster positive client relationships by listening to and understanding client needs, and effectively communicating project features/benefits, schedule and deliverables.
Work cooperatively with colleagues, leading meetings and actively facilitating progress.
Communicate tactfully and effectively with contractors to provide knowledge of design intent and resolve design conflicts during construction.
BS in Mechanical or other related field.
Desire 5+ years of related work experience.
Proficiency with Autocad (Revit a plus), MS Excel, and MS Word.
Professional Registration a plus.
Knowledge of food plant and process design a plus.
Ability to clearly communicate to clients the features and benefits of a project design concept.
Ability to communicate and work harmoniously with team members.
Adaptable to both leadership and hands-on design roles.
Travel up to 10% of the time to visit job sites for gathering field data and meeting with clients.
