Food Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Food Manufacturing Process Engineer to create food manufacturing production layouts and process flow diagrams, and to select and specify food production and processing equipment and components. This engineer will create production processes that improve productivity, increase food safety, and reduce manufacturing costs for our clients throughout the U.S.

The ideal candidate is familiar with food manufacturing processes in the bakery, dairy, and meat industries. The Food Manufacturing Process Engineer must plan, design, and specify food production processes using software such as AutoCAD and Revit for production flow, layout planning, and process flow diagrams. Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets is necessary to process calculations, equipment lists, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and optimize food production processes from inception through start up
  • Communicate with clients throughout the project to discuss and review objectives, options, budgets, costs, and schedules
  • Visit clients on-site to evaluate food production and processes and gather data
  • Create mass/process flow diagrams for food production and processing operations
  • Generate the space requirements for food production and process equipment
  • Develop operational layout drawings showing the food process and support functions
  • Provide food process equipment documentation and specifications
  • Review food safety needs related to government or third-party regulations
  • Develop budgets, costs, and schedules

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering
  • Analytical thinker with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • AutoCad or REVIT skills
  • Proven work experience in developing manufacturing processes
